Pizzarias and Tato Skins

I write about food a lot. Have you noticed? There's just so much of it, and it always seems to be changing!

Yesterday I made a routine stop at Big Lots to stock up on stickers and whatever else looked amusing. As I rounded the snack aisle I found some amazing rip-off chips you may not believe exist. Considering where I found them, chances are they will very soon cease to exist.

On the left you will find a bag of Pizzarias, not unlike the kind that Keebler used to make. On the right you'll find Tato Skins, which are actually still being made. What do these 2 bags have in common? They're both made by the same company, Poore Brothers. The odd thing about this is that the company not only makes the real Tato Skins, but the TGIFriday's ones as well. Needless to say, I got myself a $1 bag of Tato Skins that are tater-riffic.

I was never much of an original Pizzarias fan, and I'm not a big fan of these new ones, either. I can't make much of a call on whether or not these are anything like the originals. They taste like stale baked torillas covered in powdered tomato if that helps any. Some of the chips have a light dusting, while others look like they were involved in a powdered bloodbath. Overall -- crummy. But worth wasting $1 just to brag that I have Pizzarias and you don't.
