Young Jack Sparrow

I didn't know what I was going to write about today so I headed out to my best source for new crap I don't need -- Wal-Mart. There wasn't much going on short of back to school and a pile of Cupcake Tea Party Cake sets marked down in the clearance section.

I knew I'd find something, I always do. As I'm passing the book and magazine section, a skull and crossbone catches my eye. I find this:

Disney has released a series of children's adventure books based on the adventures of young Jack Sparrow. I'm late in coming, because this is already book 2 in the series! I took an hour out of my night to read through all hundred some pages. The beginning wasn't too fantastic, but it was a fast and steady read. The characters are interesting, and includes the stereotypical Mary Sue. All in all, a watered down baby version of Pirates, but it still has those wonderfully eerie and dramatic moments. I'd read the rest of the series if someone loaned it to me. I give it 4 out of 5 pirate hats!
