Lady Lovely Locks and You
Do you know what this picture is?

Is looks like a cheap Christmas Tree ball, right? Wrong. This little image is from an advertisement promoting Lady Lovely Locks videos. Not just any Lady Lovely Locks videos, ones starring YOU! Yes, Lady Lovely Locks was once victim to videos starring cheap effects pasting in photos of small children to one of her adventures.

Download the Lady Lovely Locks Ad
The ad starred a lady dressed as Lady Lovely Locks, but she looked and acted more like she was promoting a phone sex line. This chick had on more eye make-up than a street whore and a hairdo that would make Cyndi Lauper cringe. They didn't list a price for this doozy, but I'm guessing it was upwards of $50. After all, in the 80's pasting school photos in cartoons of hot air balloons was pretty fancy technology.

I once got a book as a gift that had my picture and name used as part of a story kinda like that commercial is promoting. Cheesy, but fun.

Wow, she really is a phone sex operator! *laughs* It doesn't suprise me really considering the video is from L.A. 213 is an L.A. city proper area code. They probably picked her up at the Spearmint Rhino. Anyways... I remember videos like that being advertised on TV. I sent in for something personalized once... it was some poster or something. I got a poster with my name on it in really small gold print on the back side of the poster (lame) and even worse, they spelled my name wrong! (how can you screw up Molly?). So that royally sucked. But the one cool personalized thing that exsisted back in the 80's that rocked was the personalized Pound Puppy collars you could send away for. I had a pup named Marshmallow and he had his own collar and a big heart ID tag that said Marshmallow, now that was awesome!

PLU: I had the same type of Pound Puppy, only mine was named Butterscotch. I LOVED that.
