Darkwing DVD

SHENANIGANS!!! SHA-NAN-I-GANS!!!! They edited my first season DVD set of Darkwing Duck! Immediately after the intro of episode one, Darkly Dawns the Duck, there's supposed to be a really great first chase scene. It's NOT THERE! GONE! DISAPPEARED!! WITHOUT A TRACE!! As far as the DVD goes, there's no bonuses. The box art is okay, some is original images and others -- hell, I coulda drawn!

The menus are minimal, and not particularly impressive. It looks like they sort of pasted in some animation cels as the background and designed the frames in like 5 minutes. The image is exceptionally clear -- which is really great. I'm still bummed about Darkly Dawns the Duck being trimmed down to TV size for no particular reason. I hope the rest of the episodes aren't like that.

Anyway, to celebrate the joy of Darkwing Duck coming out on DVD, I'm going to share a fun little treat with you. Back in '97 I had just finished my freshman year of high school. Most high school kids were busy experimenting with drugs. My friends experimented with lack of sleep, sugar, and video cameras. My best friend at the time, Lavender Feline, her sister Mariella, and I, recorded several hours of us acting like dorks. We later dubbed the recordings "The Beefy Tape" which sadly has since been transferred to DVD. But, in the spirit of fun, I'll let you take a peek at a certain section in which we dance around to the theme of Darkwing Duck. This was a more tame section, but hopefully you'll enjoy it nonetheless.
