Cheat weekend
I was out shopping til I was dropping for a good 5 hours today. Saturday started out where I love to start Saturdays -- Zern's. It's not that I get up in the morning and go, "Man, I totally need some old Star Wars glyecerine soap with a figure in the middle!" But by the end of the day, I've managed to come into ownership of it. I was thinking since it was a little rainy and cloudy outside there would be less people. I was WRONG. There was as many, if not more, people there than on a bright summer day.

Signs of Halloween were abound. Pumpkins, witches, costumes, apple cider, candy apples. Next weekend will kick-off Larry's Hardware Nightmare Before Christmas bonanza throughout the month of October. Jack Skeleton's face will appear on just about everything you can think of. At one of the candy stands I picked up a particularly cute Halloween Candy, Count Wonkula's Bloodberry Donutz.

This was one extremely rich candy. It was a loooooot of chocolate and filled with a lot of strawberry goo. It reminds me a lot of how I'm always saying that Caramello needs to make a candy bar called Bordello and fill it up with blood instead of caramel.

I'm not usually a big fan of crafts and knick-knacks, but I found this today and absolutely fell in love. I couldn't believe the price tag was only $2.99! I'm sure if I picked up something like this at the mall, they'd charge me about $20 for it. It's now found itself a permanent place hanging on my bedroom door.
On the way to and back from Zern's I always pass Reppert's Candy, and today I decided to drop by and see what kinds of gourmet Halloween treats they had. The place smelled amazing. It looked amazing, too. There was black and orange everywhere with all kinds of wonderful fall decorations. The candies.... tons and tons of Halloween treats. Solid chocolate witches, ghost cookie cutters filled with fudge, orange foil wrapped chocolates, chocolate spiders, pretzels drizzled with orange stripes, and more! It was like a cornucopia of chocolate. Wait... did I say it was like a cornucopia of chocolate?

Strike that! It WAS a cornucopia of chocolate!
This weekend is the first time in about two months that I've eaten anything with sugar in it. I've gone down a size, which is terrific, and now I'm taking a short break. This weekend is officially cheat weekend. Mainly because my mom is making lasagna this weekend because of my dad's birthday, and I totally needz some homemade lasagna. My dad and I are two COMPLETELY different people, and I had trouble getting him a birthday present. I wasn't entirely certain what miserable old racist 57-year-old men like, so I bought him the Dukes of Hazzard movie on DVD. *shrug*

Wow! Zern's and an insanely good candy store in the same day, I am green with envy, but it sounds like you deserved to treat yourself! If I ever get out east (hah... *looks at empty pockets*) I am so looking you up for a trip to Zern's. It sounds so comepletely awesome out there, sorta like rural Northern California but different.

It's understandable that money can make people autonomous. But how to act when one does not have money? The one way is to try to get the credit loans or credit loan.
