Although I built my computer myself and put some pretty badass parts in it, the monitor I've been using for some time was 10+ years old. I just got a check for my first freelance writing project, and I decided to put a chunk of it towards a new flatscreen LCD monitor. I am completely amazed at the difference. I was almost blinded by the brightness. Graphics that I once thought were dark blurs are actually images now! It's fantastic!

Today was a great day for a variety of reasons. Reason 1 is that The Little Mermaid came out on DVD, and I have been waiting anxiously for The Little Mermaid on DVD 4-eva! Reason 2 is that X-Men 3 came out on DVD. I opted to pick up the whole Trilogy pack for a fair $30. Sad thing about the Trilogy pack, it doesn't note anywhere on the outside package if it was Fullscreen or Widescreen. I prefer widescreen, and I lucked out, but I'm curious if they just didn't make a fullscreen available. Reason 3 why today is so great....

Yup, it's enough to get me to buy a Large Diet Coke every day for the rest of the month. Speaking of McDonald's, do they still have those McDonald's Trick-or-Treat coupons? I'm fairly certain Wendy's does, and I can't stop myself from buying Halloween goodies. I don't get that many trick-or-treaters, so I'm going to reward the ones that come tenfold. God bless the man who invented treat bags. So far I've got them stuffed with a mini tub of Play-Doh, Great Pumpkin Fruit Snacks, a sticker sheet, and a plastic spider ring. I think a coupon for a free Jr. Frostee might just be the piece-de-resistance. I need to get some chocolate in there, but I'm holding out until I find mini candy bars in the shapes of skulls and cockroaches.
