Hershey Holiday

Aside from being the great American chocolate bar, Hershey's is also known for kicking it into high gear around the holidays. Their candy's foil wrappings are quick to become red, green, and silver around the holidays. If there's a single person who doesn't get warm and fuzzy when they see Kisses merrily dinging out "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" on their TV during the holidays, God needs to strike that person down.

Hershey's never lets me down on holidays. They've managed to topple the mini orange-wrapped chocolate bars with ghosts etching they had over Halloween. This chocolate representation of a winter wonderland not only has an adorable Snowman themed wrapping, but the image is also etched on a nearly double sized bar. Sure, they're playing it safe by being non-denominational, but I always like snowmen because they're good for the entire winter season.

It's worth mentioning since you'll probably notice oddly hour-ed posts in the near future -- I've been let go from my job. It doesn't come as too much of a surprise since my department's turnover rate is at least 80%, but it's something I didn't particularly need right now. Assuredly, it was completely unrelated to my work performance. You're welcome to e-mail me if you want to know the full high-school-drama story, but I was told I was being let go for "being unhappy" about my job.

So now I'm whiling away the time on unemployment checks, eating Spongebob Squarepants macaroni and cheese, and seeing who's the baby's daddy on Maury. I'm really not that upset about no longer working for a company proven to be full of a bunch of discriminatory dicks.

    Hi,
I'd actually love to hear the story of you being let go. I've been reading your site for a while now, but never commented. I really admire the fact that you're the only woman I can think of who is running a site like this, and I've enjoyed your rants about that fact.

You worked at a call center, right? I did too, for a little over a year. Those places are just soul sucking...so my sympathies. I'm trying to avoid returning to one because I think it's all too easy to get sucked in to call center culture...
