Mystie Mei and the box of a thousand years

One of the perks of being a webmistress is that sometimes people throw all kinds of goodies your way. Okay, so this is only the second time it's happened in 10 years aside from that freebie DVD of the Transformers movie. And that first time was just an old Disney Adventures magazine. So what? I have free stuff.

Mainly Japanese stuff. I'll forgive the reader for the lack of Ramune soda.... this time. But the phonebook manga had an ad for little trinkets with the Koalas from the Koala cookies and now I want Koala cookies! Darn it. The manga came with the standard lovely little freebies, such as a pencil, a couple notebooks, and an adorable little lock for locking your notebook! The was also puffy Muppets stickers, which will be added to the collection, and lusted over as one has one of my favorite shots of Miss Piggy on it.

There was also a magazine with photos of Japanese street wear in it that I'm totally in love with. It reminds me so much of season 3 of America's Next Top Model when they went to Japan and had to learn about Japanese street wear. The girls were running around Tokyo in babydoll Lolita fashions trying to find shops for their go-sees and all the while screaming, "SPEAK ENGLISH, PEOPLE! DAMN IT!!" I love watching America's Next Top Model, because it makes me feel like the most well-rounded and least conceited person alive.

Japanese fashion is one the most amazing things ever witnessed. A lot of their street wear looks like the girls raided a Goodwill and a costume store, pinned some shit together and walked outside with it on. It's always good to see the creepy bag lady look making a comeback.
