Horrible things I used to wear

I spent a large amount of time today moving around so many clothes, either packing them away or putting them aside for donation, by the end of it I had at least 60 free hangers. Mainly I trashed about anything that had short sleeves or bright color, including a bright yellow El Hazard anime t-shirt. God, what was I thinking? Now I'm down to my standard black vixen tops and a plethora of black t-shirts from ThinkGeek, Jinx, 80stees, Hot Topic, etc.

Like most people, I had some absolutely terrible things I used to wear just because I had absolutely no idea how ridiculous they were. In middle school I had an insane amount of stirrup pants. And yeah, I had a jean jacket, and a matching denim sunflower hat. To be honest, I still own a few neon animal print snap bracelets and a full set of Days of the Week barrettes. Though I've tossed about every scrunchie I owned.

I've always been pretty eclectic and weird and went through all kinds of crazy fashion phases. I'll admit, I was one of those sad anime freaks that wore nothing but jeans and anime t-shirts through my entire high school career. I also used to buy printable iron ons and make custom Negaduck panties which I flaunted in front of my geek friends when we changed in gym class. How the hell I landed a boyfriend when I was cuddling a Vulpix plush during a speech in English class, I'll never figure out.  I guess the bond over Pocket Pikachus is a strong one.

I went through a huge punk phase where I owned a handful of NOFX shirts and covered my backpack in pins and patches displaying my undying love for Bad Religion. I thought plaid pants were awesome. Next it was full on goth -- armwarmers, safety pins, bondage pants, the works. I was still a pretty cute goth, though. I still have a lot of that dark era about me, but in more of a designer style now. I'm just glad I'm not one of those big girls that makes themselves look 100 times worse by sporting Bugs Bunny sweatshirts and purple sweatpants.

Ahhh....fashion phases. I was a big grunge rock chick in Junior High. After that, it was full on Skate Rat for me with a short stop in Gothville. Depending on my weight, I have secret penchant for labels...shh! don't tell...but the skater in me just never let go all the way, and most days it's jeans, a t-shirt and Vans for me. And my Furla bag!
