Enviga

Enviga is one of the most gimmicky sodas I've seen in quite some time. It's not just your typical run-of-the-mill diet soda, Enviga boasts that you will burn calories by drinking it. It comes in a six-pack of silver cylinders, each filled with your preference of flavor -- green tea, peach, or berry. But, don't let it fool you into thinking it's just a health drink. Enviga has all the caffeine of a cup of coffee and has all the "nutritional science" from Nestle, which is known for other popular health foods such as the Kit Kat and Pixy Stix.

The logo incorporates a flame over the i in Enviga to signify that it burns calories. According to the package, drinking 3 cans of Enviga helps burn an additional 60-100 calories a day in healthy, normal weight 18-35 year olds. That's about the amount of calories in one apple. The most important question to raise, of course, is the taste. I can safely say that Enviga tastes like someone took a carbonated piss in my Nestea. With every sip I make a bitter face, but after a couple minutes I forget how bad it is and start trying to drink it again. It's a vicious cycle. Overall, when I'm looking for something to refresh me when I'm smacking my ass to Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease, I'll just stick with plain water.

It's hardly the first diet/energy soda out there. Have you tried the MDX Mountain Dew Soda? Tastes just like MD, but it claims to give you energy. I certainly didn't feel any more energized after drinking it.
