Christmas in July!

As I kid I always hated Christmas in July, but now I'm starting to get turned on to its magic. Especially on days when it's really fucking hot out and I can't go in the pool because my brother is having some party with his friends. So I'm inside trying think cool thoughts, which I guess isn't so hard when you have central air. Maybe later on I'll pop in Garfield Christmas. Right now, I'm burning up because I just got in from a visit to the Kutztown Pennsylvania Dutch Festival, which I might forge into an article later seeing as I have enough photos to. While I was there in the blistering heat with the sun trying to burn me to a crisp, I found a sweet little stand.

Christmas Lore, yes yes yes. Red and green and thoughts of presents and snow and NOT CRAPPY HAIR-RUINING HUMIDITY. Ahhhhh yeah. Actually, screw Garfield Christmas, I think I actually have the Garfield Christmas in July episode on my hard drive. I am SO watching that when I'm done blogging.

There were lots of tiny little Christmas trinkets, novelties, and nativity sets. What I was interested in was that tray of green goodies there. Do you know what they are? They're Christmas Pickles. An old tradition rumored to come over from Germany where you hide a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree and the first person to find it gets an extra present. And now I have one. My very own Christmas Pickle. Only 170 days til I get to use it.
