A Garfield Quickie
This isn't an article reviewing a Garfield Quickie , it's quickie article reviewing Garfield. More specifically the episode entitled Heatwave Holiday in which Garfield attempts to cool down by faking Christmas. Good fun. I decided to write it after having that Christmas in July fling the other day combined with a recent (now over) heatwave. It's a cruel, cruel summer. At least that's what I sang at karaoke the other night.
The other day I did a summer activity I haven't done since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I stopped by the town park, took of my shoes and socks, and walked in the creek. I must be getting delicate in my old age, cuz those little stones hurt my feet like hell. Ugh, and I almost stepped on a worm. I was really scared of squashing a salamander or a crayfish or something. Or even some golly wolly pogs, there was a school of them swimming around.
Nice to see your feet. Maybe next time we could get a closer view?
I used to go for barefoot walks in the city several years ago. I'm in my 40's now, so that wouldn't be as kewl, although if I had a female partner to join me...

Hi Mystie, I LOVE that episode! Well, I just love Garfield period. I have the whole Garfield series (all the specials and the Garfield and Friends TV show) on DVD with me so I should take in watching it. Only problem is, I have them all in an albm and don't have the cases so I'll be searching for the title. Oh well, I remember it's the second season and probably the second volume so it's not a complete loss! Anyway, I should note that when the newsman reported that it was not Christmas but July, he then said that it was actually August. So, it must have been July 31st when they started the fad that went over into August. Anyway, and it was pretty obvious at the end of the episode when Garfield said, "You'd think of all people, he would know!" That pretty much should convince us that it was Santa. Anyway, I'm getting myself hyped so I should just go and watch the episode! It would be a relief to watch another episode besides the Ants episode, and that's just the first one. Half the time I don't even watch the sequel! Anyway, great review! I always love reading your article!
