Elvis Reese's

If there's one perfect candy concoction it has to be the Reese's Peanut Butter cup, but I try not to be prejudice. I love all candy, even though it doesn't always love me back. I've been eying the Limited Edition Elvis Reese's cups for a few weeks now, but it seems I forget about it until I'm halfway through the check-out line at Wal-Mart and the nearest display is 2 aisles over. Today I lucked out, I went to the local grocery store and they had them right at the front of the conveyor.

You can all take a big sigh of relief when I tell you they left the bacon out of this one. It's just the peanut butter and banana goodness gently cradled in a milk chocolate shell. The package falsely advertises that there will be a layer of banana smothered under the delicious grainy peanut butter, but the bite-tests shows a banana ring circling the PB. The other cup was dissected in my normal way -- nibbling all around the ribbed for her pleasure outside and then eating the innards last.
I can only say good things about this treat. It's got all good things -- chocolate, peanut butter, banana, and a lack of bacon. But I can't help but wonder if they did try to market test a version with bacon included. Wow. I went about this thing all wrong. I should have fried some bacon and wedged it between the two cups. Ugh. I don't think my heart can take that, let alone my stomach.

Is that a banana cookie or banana paste? I don't know if I could hang with banana paste.

The miniatures are the ones that have the banana on the outside. Those were the ones I had. I haven't seen the ones you had.
