Take a SNICKing and keep on ticking
WOO an article! Been long enough, right? It's been a busy couple months, what can I say? I hope none of you have died, I know at least one of you has threatened suicide if I didn't complete an article soon. I'm doing this one in segments so I don't blow myself out by staring at the article and going, "OH MY GOD LOOK AT HOW MUCH I STILL HAAAVVEEE TOOOO WRRIIIITTTEE!!"
I'm sure some of you are starting to wonder about my Halloween plans in regards to the site. I still have some things packed away, but I probably won't bring them out til 3 weeks prior. BUT, I did go and see Rob Zombie's Halloween, which was kinda cool. I think my tolerance of scary movies is starting to expand. I don't see any slasher movie reviews coming up on the site, though, unless they're making horror movies with unicorns and princesses.
I loved Clarissa explains it all. I would probably still watch it now if it were on!(I'm 33). Great flashback!

I love you for this, Mystie! SNICK was the most awesome thing ever, and I still love those Nickelodeon shows. Too bad only a couple are available on DVD.

This is awesome Mystie! I loved Snick! As a matter of fact, my dad recently sent me a box of my old crap and inside was one of those liquid and glitter filled test tube like keychains with the Snick show emblems inside. Best surprise ever. I don't even remember how or when I got it in the first place, but it is my favorite piece of nostalgia. Ever.

oohman. I can not WAIT for the Are You Afraid Of the Dark Article! I thought for the longest time that I imagined it- cause no one I know remembers it! I seriously thought I had seen too many Amazing Stories and Creepshow flicks as a pre-teen and mashed them together in my brain.

Oh how I loved Snick! My friend & I even made up a song about it, seriously. "Saturday Night Nickelodeon (SNICKSNICK), Saturday Niiiight Nick".
Oddly I only really remember the subplot of that Clarissa episode (spying on the neighbor). If this is all leading up to the AYAOTD that starred Melissa Joan Hart, I had this whole Snick on tape too!

Hey Mystie, I didn't know if I should have commented on this thread or the last one. Since this is related to the article, I chose this one. Anyway, just read your Roundhouse article. I used to really like that show. The writing was superb and at the time I even thought it rivaled SNL's writing. I can't wait for your Ren and Stimpy article. Are you doing the episodes that appeared on the premiere weekend of Snick? If that's the case, then the Ren & Stimpy episodes should be "In the Army" and the Powdered Toast Man episode. I don't watch Ren & Stimpy anymore because I find them more disgusting and less funny now, but back then I was crazy for them! Anyway, will be waiting for the next installment!

Wow,talk about jacked up priorities.
I'm sitting here "studying" for an OB final, completely stumped, yet I can remember not only the entire anthem but also the commercial jingle for sugar sod pops. Off the top of my head I'd have to say I already filled my brain up with useless crap as a kid. I'm like Matt from X-E only less whitty.
Sheez. Much love in the new year, you should do an article on The Angry Beavers, a bit late in my Nick Watching Career, but probably the last good original show I remember from them.
Im back to reading about the Lady Bits.

Wow, I loved Snick. Thanks for the commercials in the end, too! I was reminded of how awesome Nick Mag always was!! I've had a few magazine subscriptions over my two decades or so of life, but I have to say that my Nick Magazine was honestly the best! We still have gag bookcovers on some of our books in this house (and they still crack me up every time I find them.) I love your site, thanks for taking me back to these great memories time and again!!

Hope you post the AYAOTD? article soon. I seem the recall the Melissa Joan Hart episode, she was a babysitter or something? It's been a long time. I remember watching Ren and Stimpy at home with my dad (he actually liked it!), and reruns of AYAOTD? with my horror-movie obsessed cousin. Good times
