Christmas Kisses

It's the holidays and that means it's time for Hershey's to wrap up all their candies in red, green, silver, and gold cloaks and send them off to fill candy dishes and top off cookies all over the world. This was something I came to expect as a child. I knew every year when we went to Grammy's house there was going to be a big tray with Christmas colored chocolates and the best cut-out cookies ever.

Hershey's has developed a lot of bold flavors of Kisses over the past few years -- caramel, peanut butter, truffle, cherry, etc etc. As long as they know how to ring in tune to "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" I'm on board for all of em. This season some new festive treats are joining the lots. We have Hot Chocolate and Candy Cane kisses as well as Toffee, which I didn't buy, because it's just inferior.

Hot Chocolate Kisses, although not hot (unless you melt it) does have that hot cocoa flavor to it. I'm sure as kids we've all eaten scoops out of the canister of hot chocolate mix, so you can imagine it kinda tastes like that. The Candy Cane ones are adorned in foil that has prints of candy canes on it and comes white and red striped with balls of crunchy peppermint bits inside. It seems oddly familiar to me, like I'm eating a Christmas candy I haven't had in 20 years. The whole bag will be gone before I figure it out.

Highly suggested!

I went out and nabbed some of these... I have been sorta grounded and out of the fucked up new candy circuit for a bit... so I saw this and thought... hmm... must try... so we (me and mom) bought both the cocoa and candy cane kisses and the dark chocolate mint truffle variety to use in the annual christmas cookies... Well what a fiasco! They don't have solid centers and melted like crazy mother fuckers all over the place and pretty much ruined the cookies.. even after they had cooled down significantly and we put them on they still turned to puddles... just slightly more kisses shaped puddles So eat but don't bake these bad boys.
