Happy 4th of July everyone! I celebrated this great day in America by going to a festival celebrating the Native Americans! The festival was very well hidden and when I got to the entrance I thought they weren't even having it because nothing was there. We followed the tire trail through a clearing in the trees and parked. Well, I skid my car over a huge rock and quite possibly damaged the hell out of it, but I'm planning on trading it in within the next few weeks, anyway.

A lot of it was just walking around from tent to tent looking at various wares. I wound up buying a couple of feathers, some rose quarts, and a medium sized rain stick. Did you know that real rainsticks are made from cacti that have the needles drilled into them? At least that's what the chick selling them told me. I might not have heard her right over the sound of me testing out the giant rainsticks. Mine's probably a 20 incher. I likes em big, but not too big.
There was a fine assortment of bracelets, bone knives, skulls, arrows, and enough dreamcatchers to assure the western hemisphere no nightmares for the rest of their days on this earth. And yes, there were people in full costume dancing around in circles drumming and chanting. Heap good time.

I am glad you had a great 4th and spent it doing something a bit different. I really want to hit up a pow wow while I am out in the "western" states. There's a ton of cool Native American stuff and it's awesome to get to observe a bit of the native cultures of America in action. At least to strange anthro freaks like me.
You soooo need to post a picture of you with your big but not too big rain stick... see you could drum up some hits by posing seductively with your rain stick
