It's Nestle Magic!
The laptop is paying off already. I just finished a Nestle Magic article that I started over a year ago and never finished. 2009 will be the year of finishing articles that are already part way done. Maybe I'll finally get that Are You Afraid of the Dark article finished after 19 months of lies about it "coming soon." Hell, maybe I'll even find a use for that USB record player I had to have and used all of 2 times. When all that's done, I'll review some crazy stuff I snagged via torrent. Stick Stickly anyone? Maybe some fun with the live-action Bill and Ted TV series? Surprises await.
Nestle makes the very best! Okay, sorry about the lame tagline opening, but thank you for unlocking a part of my brain I had forgotten about. I guess we are what would be called "retrophiles". lovers of (most) pop culture things of the past. Thanks again and I'm glad you're feeling better.

I actually consider you very lucky here. When I would occaisionally get one of these all I would get would be temporary tattoos and stickers. I would have loved one of those figures.

I would have killed for that Hades. They were really expensive here, so I only ever got a few. Somehow I managed to get two Panics, and I think that Pongo head bobber. I was massively into Hercules, so of course Hades was the amazing prize.

Ugh at nasty old stank chocolate. Your last article inspired me to buy some Kinder Eggs last time I was in San Diego. (Ugh at nasty Kinder chocolate as well). Then I get back from SD and find this article! I almost forgot those came with toys at one time. I think I had the same luck in temp tattoo/sticker department. The laster ones with the nasty chalky worse than Sweet Tarts sweet tart-esque things were icky. I am glad you cat is smart enough not to eat musty 10 year old chocolate.
I am sad your favorite shop closed at Vern's. I am a swapmeet fiend and love Frank & Sons in City of Industry. If my comic booth closed there I would be completely bummed. My favorite old school toy seller closed there years ago. No more buying cool complete MotU figures in a little sandwich baggie for cheapish.
Glad to see you writing articles again... I look forward to seeing a bit more Mystie in my life again!!

Wow! Awesome nostalgia; I got a few of those back when they still had toys. I had a Megara, a few of the other Hercules and, of course, the crate Dalmatians. I remember being so confused when they re-released them a few years ago and they had those nasty candies inside. I'm kind of pining for my childhood now, LOL!
